Challenge your limits

Precisely tuned for performance: the RR. Here, success is measured in millimeters. That’s why the superbike has undergone ongoing development: from the new, more aerodynamic trim panels with winglets, to the front wheel mudguard with M Brake Ducts, right up to performance-oriented details, such as the quick action throttle that reduces the throttle path by 12 degrees. With the Pro riding mode, you will now have a handle on all situations as standard. The goal is, was, and always will be clear: new pole positions – #NeverStopChallenging.

    Highlighted Features
    • It’s hard to imagine the race track without it – and the RR is also intrinsically linked to it: You can achieve new personal bests with the more aerodynamic front and side trim panels. The new winglets generate up to 37% more downforce on the road: with 13 lbs at 93 mph, 23 lbs at 124 mph, 35 lbs at 155 mph, and a whopping 50 lbs at 186 mph. This counteracts the tendency of the front wheel to lift off the road surface when accelerating.
    • Performance on screen: Off to the pit lane after a few laps around the racetrack: The last screen used is always displayed after you switch the ignition off/on. This helps you concentrate and stay focused on your mode. One Pure Ride screen and three different Core screens are available depending on your preference. The system displays a suitable maximum speed when the engine is cold. The shift light now clearly indicates when the rotational-speed sensor is flashing. Thanks to the clear TFT display, you can quickly view all other settings as well.
    • Passion is where the heart beats – and boy, does it beat!: Unleashed passion: We put all of our racetrack experience into the high-performance BMW ShiftCam four-cylinder engine of the RR, with 205 hp. The M Brake Ducts in the new front mudguard cool the brake calipers when racing, thereby ensuring a higher level of performance and a more consistent resistance point. They have been adopted from the M RR, just like the performance-oriented cylinder heads. The Shift Assistant Pro is now included as standard, ensuring high precision when switching gears.
    • Framework conditions – quite literally: Accuracy to the millimeter for our highest level of precision: The M chassis kit with raised rear end and adjustable swing arm pivot is standard. Frame recesses ensure lateral flexibility. The flat steering head angle and the offset of the fork bridge provide precision at the front wheel. The damping of the DDC in the Road, Dynamic, and Race modes with Race Pro 1 to 3 means that you can ride on country roads with street damping.
    • Confidence in corners: The Riding Modes Pro, which are now included as standard, and steering angle sensor enable two new functions: Brake Slide Assist for deceleration and Slide/Slip Control for acceleration. The steering angle sensor measures your drift angle and, in conjunction with the DTC, provides optimum slip. DTC settings 2 and 3 have been optimized for the racetrack and slicks. Brake Slide Assist helps you master power drifts like these in no time at all: for more dynamic performance around every turn.

    Motorcycle Buying Guide

When it comes to buying a motorcycle, there are many options available and it can be tough knowing where to start your search. Here at BMW Motorcycles of Jacksonville, we strive to make your buying process easier! We’ve gathered up the following shopping tips for you and you can always visit our dealership in Orange Park, Florida, for personalized advice.

    Research Motorcycle Models and Features

Look into different types of bikes and find out what type best suits your needs. Do you want a touring bike for comfortable long-distance rides? Would you prefer a fast sport bike for racing?

Make sure to also think about the features that matter most to you, such as weight and power. A heavier motorcycle will be more stable, for example, while a lighter one will be more agile.

You can also look up reviews online or talk to friends who own motorcycles to get their take on specific models.

    Research Motorcycle Dealerships

Whether you’re in the market for your first bike or looking to upgrade from your starter model, choosing the right motorcycle dealer is an important part of the process. The best way to go about finding a reliable and trustworthy dealer is by doing your research.

Start by searching online for local motorcycle dealerships that specialize in the type of bike you’re interested in. Get recommendations from friends and family who have recently purchased a bike, as well as read reviews online to get a better idea of what others think about the dealership.

    Analyze Your Motorcycle Budget

It’s important to consider your budget before making any purchases. Will you be able to pay for the bike in full or will you need financing? Do the prices of helmets, jackets, and other gear fit into your budget? It helps to know how much you can reasonably afford, which helps you avoid overspending or unnecessarily passing on features that fit within your budget.

    Visit BMW Motorcycles of Jacksonville

Visiting us at BMW Motorcycles of Jacksonville is a great way to make an informed motorcycle purchase! Unbeatable Value

Choosing to buy a used motorcycle can save you money but also give you peace of mind. Many of our bikes have the same features as the newer models but are only a couple years old, so rest assured knowing that you are getting top-of-the-line features in your used bike. You might even get lucky and find a quality used motorcycle from this year, with little miles on it! And with our expert mechanics being only a phone call away, you can trust that your used motorcycle will be working perfectly for years to come. Our service department is proud to have the highest customer satisfaction score around, and they are all motorcycle enthusiasts too, who will treat your bike with the same care they would their own.

    New Rider Advantages

Used motorcycles offer advantages to new riders that they simply can’t get from a newer bike. If you’ve been riding for a while, you can think back to the days when you were fresh to the world of motorcycling. There are inevitably going to be incidents where small dings, dents, or scratches appear. Perhaps it’s unseen gravel, a misjudged parking job, or some wet leaves. These things happen — even to experienced riders! Whatever the incident may be, it is much less painful for something to happen to a used bike than the newest model.

Additionally, new riders might not know exactly what type of bike is best for their riding style or the terrain they plan on riding over. It could be that the sleek and stylish appearance of a cruiser draws them to the lifestyle, but they quickly discover that something built for long-distance would be better for their commute. Used motorcycles take less time to pay off, and riders can quickly find another used bike that is a better fit.

    Things to Consider

Buying a motorcycle can be really exciting but you’ll want to make sure that the bike fits your body as well as your wallet. When you see a used bike that you like, make sure that you sit on it and get a feel for the controls and pegs before you test ride. You want to make sure that your body is comfortable on the seat and you can reach the handlebars. How is the riding position? On some motorcycles, you’ll be positioned forward in more of a racing stance, while some bikes will have you in a more leaned-back and relaxed riding position. Your feet should rest flat on the ground while still on the bike, giving you the ability to remain planted should there be a surprise gust of wind while at a stoplight. When you’re ready to take it out for a spin, make sure the bike has the feel that you want. Do your legs curl under you too much, or are your arms locked uncomfortably? You want to feel like you are “one” with the bike, in a symbiotic partnership, united against the unforgiving elements and the harsh asphalt. Also if this is your first bike, visit our parts department to make sure you get a helmet, gloves, boots, eye protection, and any other protective gear you need to keep yourself safe on the road.

    Tips To Help You Decide

Other tips to help you decide what kind of used bike you should pick up, are:

    • Attend OEM-sponsored rallies, like Daytona Bike Week, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Delmarva Bike Week, or Americade. Many manufacturers reps will attend these events, answering any questions and allowing licensed riders to test ride different bikes.
    • You should also check out reviews and comments on motorcycle forums and blogs. You may not share the same opinions as the reviewers, but you can get some general pros and cons of different models.
    • Of course, you’ll want to talk to your biker friends as well! If you see a BMW or Ducati in a parking lot, walk up and ask some questions about it! Most riders love compliments about their bikes and are generally open to answering any questions about it. Word-of-mouth information is usually invaluable when making these types of decisions.

If you are shopping for a used motorcycle in Florida, your first stop should be BMW Motorcycles of Jacksonville, where we are proud to be your local used motorcycle dealer. Our used bike dealership is located in Orange Park, just outside Jacksonville, and we serve the used motorcycle needs of Orlando, and Tallahassee, too!
